Karen Campos McCormack is an equality consultant and Lindy hop and jazz enthusiast and researcher. She translated Norma Miller’s memoir into Spanish, La reina del swing (Ediciones Carena), and is the founder of Compostela Swing. She fell in love with swing dancing in Dublin in 2009 and later discovered a passion for this dance’s history. She was the recipient of a Frankie Manning Foundation grant for her research and has contributed to several jazz and dance studies conferences. Karen is currently enrolled at Universidad de Valladolid researching the history of African American jazz dancers in Europe. She is based in Santiago de Compostela but Porto is her second “dance home”. She also wrote the text “Why Lindy and Blues” for BMF.
